ethics in fashion photography
1.the girls neck was made more longer
2.they made the girls eyes bigger
3.they made her cheek bones thinner
4.they made her lips more plump
5.they also made the girls hair darker
6.they moved the girls eyes and eye brows down lower
2.) personally i do think that it is unethical to change a persons appearance because you are taking away the natural beauty that they have and making models look perfect to where people who want to look like that make them feel ugly. That is the reason more girls go into depression because people make beauty to perfect to get to.
3.) I think that at some circumstances is it wrong to change peoples appearance because you are just trying to make beauty so perfect. For example like on the ads of proactive they probably make the peoples skin look so perfect. But at times depending on the situation it can be ok. I'm just saying that its wrong for ads or agency's to make people look way different than they should....or try to make them look skinner. But i think its ok when you do it for like yearbook for like people who want there acne off.
4.) Like i said in number three it is ok for people to do it when they are like doing it for a picture for like a year book. I mean allot of people would think that's the same as a modeling agency messing with there models picture but its not. In those pictures people all over the world look at those pictures never knowing for a fact if that's how those models look for sure;but if you do that in a year book picture every ones already seen you before and know how you look.I know it may not make sense but it does,Because when people look at those models in magazines people want to be them, they want to look skinny like them and try to look just like him but at times that is impossible because they just fix the appearance of people so that those who feel sorry for themselves for not looking that good buy more of those products that the ad is supporting .
5.)the difference between the two is that in fashion photography you do exactly as the title says you take pictures of fashion and the fashion industry. In photo journalism you take pictures of serious epidemics and actual stories.
6.)well in a way i r ally i don't think that all type of photography has a relationship with real life i know that you everything that you can virtually take o photo of is real but i just don't think that everything that you can take a picture of has something to do with real life. For example fashion i don't think can always apply to real life;unless it has to do with something about that video ,but thenwhen i do think of that video i have a feeling that fashion can have an affect but it may not always be good, but that whats photography is there for ,to capture the good sides and bad sides of human nature.

print evaluation
1a.when you look at my photo you can see everything very clearly;like you can even read the word on my subjects photo also his face is in focus and the image that you can see on his shirt.
1b.like i said i think everything is on focus.
2.yes there is good contrast in the photo.everything that is supposed to be black is black and everything that is supposed to be white is white.
2a.no cause
3.in my photo the bad thing i did was that i didn't have my subject fill the photo.also there is action behind the subject which is bad because i should have just got my subject in the photo.i think that the only rule i followed is the rule of thirds.
3a.i think i followed the rule of thirds because if you look at the photo and look at my subject and if you imagine the lines in your head you can kind of see that he is at the intersect of one of the lines.
3b.next time i can get closer to my subject and try to remind myself to have better composition in my photos;also i should take my time in the picture taking.
4.i don't have any yellow spots but i do have little smudges.
4a.i think that as my picture was drying some water from another picture had fell on mine;or some dirt or dust had got on it.
5.no
5a.no cause
6.yes they are.
CAPTIONS:
1.)in my photo i have a boy named Mario.
2.)Mario is thinking of what to write about on his assignment for English class.
3.)Mario is in Ms.Foye's English class.
4.)Mario is working on his assignment which took place in the beginning of 3rd period.
5.)Mario is doing this assignment because it was his work for the day.
writing a caption:
Mario is working hard on an assignment for Ms.Foye in 3rd period while other people in this room were goofing off. I guess we can all say that Mario is an excellent Student that we should all appreciate.

PHOTO MANIPULATION AND ETHICS
B.In my opinion i think that manipulating is unethical becuase you shouldnt mess with imagery like that. Imean youre just being a hipocrite and just putting youre opinion into it;and people arent looking for youre opinion they are looking for the truth.
A2.The most unethical photo was the one of Saddam and bush debating because that could cause alot of fighting in debating and it would cause alot of chaos in the politics section.
B2.the least unethical photo was of Mary Ann screaming nest to millers dead body at Kent state. The reason i dont think this photo is that bad is because i mean times magazine didnt do nothing;all they did was just inhanse the photo a little bit so you can see it better. The reason i dont really think that this photo was as bad as the others is because like i said times magazine didnt do nothing but inhanse the photo. In the other pictures they really did some harmful things to the subjects.
negatives evaluation
2.one photo looked like it did not turn out well.
3.the picture i think that is going to turn out well is the one of a boy writing on a pice of paper and his hat on his lap.
4.in my best photo i think i have a bit of an angle and also and i have great focus.
the evidince of the photo having great focus is because you can really tell waht all is in the photo and the subject has not type on blurryness.
5.in my opinion i think i have rule of thirds.

marlbolo marine
2B.The meaning of this slide show was to say that although it is a celebration for our soldiers to come back from fighting we should think about what they went through and make sure they are fine;about half the soldiers that come back have suicidal thoughts or they are depressed for what they went through.Basically the meaning was to I guess kind of get a feeling of what it feels like to be a marine or solider or what ever type of hero that fought for our country.
3A.The most powerful image of the slide show was the picture of people dead on the the floor squished by by the concrete because those are the images that the marine probably got in his head a million times a day ; and that's what probably made him want to go suicidal.
3B.???
3C.The audio enhances the photographs because it gives the photos more depth and makes you feel as if you are really there.
3D.The images work together to tell a story because its as if the photographer caught every dramatic moment in this marines life so we could get what was going on.

american slideshow captions
2b.The basic training was the most powerful album because it shows what these soldiers actually have to go through and it shows the trust that they have for each other and the friendship they have to.
2c.The images work together to tell a story because just the emotion that was put into the picture and how they caught special moments for Ian..basically the pictures work perfect for each other in the sequence they are in and it looks like so much emotion was put into the pictures.
3a.Most of the photo captions were written in past tense.
3b. The captions enhance the photographs because although you can sort of tell whats happening in the photos the captions gives you a better idea of what is going on and gives you a feeling that you are there and you can actually feel whats going on.
4a.under chapter 5:army blues,on the 3rd row,the last picture,Ian is gathering with a couple of Friends as they party it up.
5a.?????
5b.Videos are better than photographs because they give you actual movement and they tell you what is going on every second of the video. its also better because you don't have to read captions.
5c.At times photos can be better than videos because sometimes you just want to capture one moment forever, and on a video you can do that but its going to keep on moving, but on a photo you can just keep on staring at it and nothing will change and you can look at that prefect moment forever with worrying of it disappearing in a second or having to keep in rewinding it.

post shoot reflection
2.I got to say that I think I did a horrible job because i really didn't get any angles and i feel as if i wasn't really concentrating on any type of technical aspects of photography.
3.well I got to say that i did want to use symmetry but i had nothing to do that with and back round as well, but in all the classrooms i had no regular backgrounds behind the students that i was shooting.
4.Next time I know to get closer and to not be scared and think of some actual technique when I'm shooting.

processing black and white film
step 1:in complete darkness you need to remove the film cassette, then you need to pull the flat end off the 35mm canister with a can opener, unwind the film and take the end out of the film from the spool by peeling off the tape that hold it together.
step 2:Load the film onto either a metal or plastic film reel. For beginners, plastic might be easier to learn . With plastic, you just slide one end of the film into a slot on the outer part of the reel and "walk" the film in until its loaded. Metal needs more experience, which might not be that easy to load into a metal reel in the dark.
you should try to do this process a couple of times with a film roll in light so you can get the hang of it...after you feel good about doing it with your eyes open try doing it with your eyes closed ( because that is how its going to feel when you're in the dark room )..once you're really confident then you can actually start the process( but make sure the film doesn't have nothing that important so that if you mess up you wouldn't mess something up that meant a lot.)
step 3: Place the loaded reel in the film tank ad cover it as you were instructed to. now that the film is in a container which no light can seep thrugh. You can turn on the light.
now youre ready to process the film.
step 4:
you have to make sure that the temperature of the chemicals is controlled ( especially the soup ). Development time is directly affected by two things: the speed of the film and the temperature of the developer. Most people suggest 68-70 degrees as the best temperature for processing the film, but you can develop at different temp. as long as you make adjustments in other things.( depending on what kind of brand you use..you can have different temp.)
Most film is processed between 65 and 75 degrees. Higher temperatures could lead to "reticulation". that can be something fun to play with but not if you're a beginner and trying to get the best negative.
step 5:
Pour developer into the open part of the closed film tank, (a.k.a.) the pour spout, and then cover it. Dont open the tank itself!!!! To keep fresh chemical on the film surface, agitation is essential throughout the process. To agitate, just turn the tank upside down once a minute. When it is upright again, tap it several times against your table to take off any air bubbles that might form themselves on the film during agitation. if you don't the bubbles will leave marks.
step 6:
Pour running water into the pour spout for a minute to stop the development. or you can mix a small amount of glacial acetic acid with water and let the film sit in that for 30 seconds to wash off the developer. Either method is known as a stop bath.
step 7:now its time to fix the picture so you can see it in light. make sure to use a fixer with hardener since that will help protect the negative from getting scratched easily. Fixing takes 5-10 minutes, depending on if you used a normal or rapid fixer. At the end of the fixing time, you could actually look at the negatives although you'll probably want to wait until everything is finished.
step 8:
Since you dont have to worry about exposing the film , remove the tank cover completely and let the film sit in cold running water for 5 minutes. You can pull out a bit of film to look at it and make sure your negatives are there.
step 9:
now you need to remove any kinds of traces of white stains. Pour in a tankful of Hypo Eliminator (also called hypo clearing agent ) and agitate for two minutes.
step 10: you need 1 final wash to finish( for 5 min. )
step 11:
carefully pull the film out but dont touch it because you will mess it up. Use washing pins or film clips to hang the film to dry in a dust-free area.
step 12:
In about 1-2 hours, the film will be dry. Use scissors to cut the film into 6 negatives long. be careful when you cut so you dont cut youre picture. Store the negatives in clear glassine envelopes or PVC plastic negative pages.
and then youre finished!!!!!
repetition

IN this picture you see a bunch of skirts that lead your eye through the picture because of how many different colors there is.

great black and white photograhers part 3
2. In the first photo I see a little boy in the the 1970's, probably poor and is sitting down there because he wants some candy but can not afford it. For the second photo I see show girls trying to get ready for something , a show perhaps, and they are all concentrating on the subject in the middle for some reason. In the first picture I smell popcorn, and some other type of food smells, also i smell a little of a stanch. In the second photo I smell powder make up, and lots of perfume. In the first photo I hear the cashier asking "may i help you ", I hear lots of I wants and gets Me's. In the second photo i hear a lot of gossip about another girl and girls asking each other whats going to happen later on in the show or what ever is going on. In the first photo I can taste the popcorn that's popping and i can taste the candy that's there , in some weird way i can taste the smell of the air. In the second photo i can taste the strong perfume in my mouth which taste like alcohol. I can also taste the hairspray the has been sprayed. In the first photo I feel poverty in a way, as if the little boy wants to get some candy or some thing sweet in there and he cant. Also I feel that the legs that are by him ( which leads to a whole person ) is watching him to make sure that he doesn't steal anything. In the second photo I feel that all the show girls are mad or jealous of the girl in the middle bacause of somethiong she did.
3.To tell people all over the world the great photograoher i picked ( Wiliiam Klein ) i would use a power point. The reason i would use a power point and not antthing alse because in a power point ypui can describve alot of things about the person place or thing you want to describe. WEll actually i think i would also want to use posters because with posters people could take the papers with them and read it over and over again. So i really cant choose between those to, but either one would work to describe Klein.

pinhole pictures i took

- the tree is on the oppisite side
-some color shows in the positive
-the picture is alot darker
-basically everything is the same color tone
Negative-noting a image in which the brightness values of the subject are reproduced so that the lightest areas are shown as the darkest.
Negative photograhy-photographic image that reproduces the bright portions of the photographed subject as dark and the dark parts as light areas. Negatives are usually formed on a transparent material, such as plastic or glass. Exposure of sensitized paper through the negative, done either by placing the negative and paper in close contact or by projecting the negative image onto the paper, reverses these tones and produces a positive photographic print.
My negative looks different from my positive because of course the lighest part of the image is the darkest and the darkest part is the lightest. Also because the positive is on the oppsite side from the negative;and that on my positive everything is the same tone of color.

The Camera

Diaphragm-a plate with a hole in the center or a ring that is placed on the axis of an optical instrument, as a camera, and that controls thr amount of light entering the instrument.
Visible spectrum-the range of wavelengths of electromagneticradiation taht is normally visiblefrom 380 to 760 nm
Camera obscura-a darkened boxlike device in which images of external, recaived through an aperture as with a convex lens are exhibited in their natural colors on a surface arranged to receive them:used for sketching, exhibition purposes, ect.
Electromagnetic spectrum-the entire spectrum, consisdered as a continuun, of all kids of electric, magnetic, and visible, radiation, from gamma rays, having a wavelength of 0.001 angstorm to waves havong a wavelength of more than 1 million km.
WORD NEEDED TO DEFINE:
Aperture-also called aperture stop.optics.an opening, usually circular, that limits the quantity of light that can enter an optical instrument
Shutter-a mechanical device for opening and closing the aperture of a camera lens to expose film or the like.
Exposure-the total amount of light received by a photosensitive surface or an area of such a surface, expressed as the product of the degree of illumination.
