I liked this picture below because this picture of Jennifer Treadaway praying during cancer awareness day has a lot of meaning to it too just as the video I picked. The reason this picture has so much meaning to it is because people went to this rally to donate money to a cancer program and pray for the love ones who got diagnosed with cancer or the loved ones who have died from cancer. In this case Jennifer and her mother were diagnosed with cancer.

The reason I liked the video to this link which was called "Austin Firefighters remember 9/11" was because the video had a really good meaning to it. The firefighters that had survived the crash of the twin towers did a memorial. As a memorial for the New York City firefighters who died in 9/11,45 Austin-area firefighters climbed up106 flights of stairs on September 11,2009 for their fellow firefighters that had died that tragic day.

focal length of lens-the focal length of the lens is pretty close to the subject.

shutter speed( dictionary definition )- the length of time a shutter is opened to expose film.

what is the effect of shooting at this shutter speed?-the affect of shooting at this shutter speed is so that the photographer can get a clear shot of the subject.

aperture-A usually adjustable opening in an optical instrument, such as a camera or telescope, that limits the amount of light passing through a lens or onto a mirror.

what is the effect of ( depth of field )of shooting at this aperture?-the effect will be what the angle is( i think ).

position- the photographer was shooting at an lower angle than the subject;as in he was beneath them.

filling the frame

This picture has filled because no matter where you look there is something going on. Also this frame is filled becase your eyes always lead you to something new.

action and emotion

This picture describes pain as the emotion. THe reason i picked the emotion pain is because of the subjects face. I also think that the suject has fear as an amotion to; because of the needle probably or maybe the subject has pain and fear.

the story

This photo tells you a story by the hands that are in the picture. This story tell me that the young hand is being helpful to the old hand, or maybe the story is the other way around. Maybe the elderly is helping the young.

Something that makes this photo powerful is the way the picture is angled. Also something else that made the picture look nice is the color ( how its in black and white ). The last but not the least thing that made the picture look powerful is the way the trees frame the picture.

great black and white photograhers part 3

1.The photographer caught my eye with his photos because of the abstract things he uses in there. In the first photo I posted (of the little boy sitting in the candy store) caught my eye because I like how he brought out the tile ( literally) ; if you look at the picture for along time if feels as if you are really in the candy store with the little boy, William Klein has a way of making you actually imagine that you're there with the subject. The second picture I choose of the girls in the stripped suits caught my eye because of how he positions the subjects in the room. Klein just made me feel like he meant to make the subject blend in , but in a way ( in my opinion ) they don't.

2. In the first photo I see a little boy in the the 1970's, probably poor and is sitting down there because he wants some candy but can not afford it. For the second photo I see show girls trying to get ready for something , a show perhaps, and they are all concentrating on the subject in the middle for some reason. In the first picture I smell popcorn, and some other type of food smells, also i smell a little of a stanch. In the second photo I smell powder make up, and lots of perfume. In the first photo I hear the cashier asking "may i help you ", I hear lots of I wants and gets Me's. In the second photo i hear a lot of gossip about another girl and girls asking each other whats going to happen later on in the show or what ever is going on. In the first photo I can taste the popcorn that's popping and i can taste the candy that's there , in some weird way i can taste the smell of the air. In the second photo i can taste the strong perfume in my mouth which taste like alcohol. I can also taste the hairspray the has been sprayed. In the first photo I feel poverty in a way, as if the little boy wants to get some candy or some thing sweet in there and he cant. Also I feel that the legs that are by him ( which leads to a whole person ) is watching him to make sure that he doesn't steal anything. In the second photo I feel that all the show girls are mad or jealous of the girl in the middle bacause of somethiong she did.

3.To tell people all over the world the great photograoher i picked ( Wiliiam Klein ) i would use a power point. The reason i would use a power point and not antthing alse because in a power point ypui can describve alot of things about the person place or thing you want to describe. WEll actually i think i would also want to use posters because with posters people could take the papers with them and read it over and over again. So i really cant choose between those to, but either one would work to describe Klein.

Hurricane Ike

In this photo the photograher caught my eye with this phot of an elderly man sitting on a chair. In my opinion this photo has one rule that applies to it which is lines because of the rows ; how they are just lined up. Another reason I like this photo is because of how the colors coordinate with eachother;and how is bag is the only that stands out.

In this photo of Hurricane Ike the photograher caught my eye with this picture of high island surrounded by an oil leak. I think that two rules actually apply to this photo. One of the rules is the rule of thirds because the subject isnt really in the center of the photo; and it has space in front to where you can see the oil spill. The other rule that was applied to the photo in my opinion is simplicity. The reason I chose simplicity is because the photo has a plain backround and really doesnt have a lot of things going on in the photo at once.

In this photo of Hurricane Ike the photogragher caught my eye because the chairs are really the only thing in order and when you look around the reat of the church it is all messed up. In my opinion this photo really has no rule applied to it.
